Thanks for the recap, and I agree the boy needs to do some serious hard time.

Yup, and I remember how 0bozo smiled when the Dad started muttering some muzzie gobbledy-goop.

Of course he did.He suffered from Jihadis Are My Friends” disorder.

I wonder what Patton would have done with this piece of excrement.

Nothing a good slap couldn't have taken care of.

I didn't even notice your post until after I had written mine. ;-)

Somehow I think Patton wouldn't have been as understanding with Bergdahl.

If men stationed in a war zone can claim a retroactively diagnosed mental issue to excuse desertion, then desertions will skyrocket.

So this is the “excuse” the White House demanded from the Army for “letting” him go to even a military trial: Setup an insanity defense, convict him and sentence him for a few months “rehab” ... then let him go free.

If he didn’t get diagnosed before he deserted, then they can’t make that claim now.

Did the ACA prevent the military from being able to hire decent doctors? Are they saying that their doctors are unqualified? Wasn’t Berg given an intake exam?

Did the public education system prevent them from learning how to read his past military records?

Sounds like the military itself is complicit in this event. If they failed to diagnose such a serious disorder, couldn’t read his records of prior military experience and reasons for leaving, and then thought they were being professional in ordering him to the post they ordered him to, then something’s wrong with their chain of command.

Then, they make matters worse by ordering others to die looking for this man?

I don’t see how he can be defended without making the military itself look like a bunch of chumps.

I learned a long time ago that when things don’t make sense, there’s a lie in it somewhere.

You left out the important part about the fact that multiple military commanders told Obama this was a bad idea, yet Obama, for political purposes rejected that sound counsel, and American lives were lost for the sake of his political campaign of 2012.

Couldn’t you do DI Sgt. Hartman asking Pyle, “What is your basic malfunction, numb nuts?” Or maybe Ray Person from Generation Kill asking some pointed questions?

I’d rather have Doctor George S Patton’s diagnosis.

Makes you wonder if Nidal Hasan wrote the diagnosis.

OK. Put him in a military psychiatric institution for life so he doesn’t hurt anyone else.

BCT = Basic Combat Training, the 8 week, or so, training course all Army personnel undergo upon entry.

Army PRIVATE Bergdahl, has a mental-health disorder alright it's called "Being a total Coward"; he should have already been shot by firing squad. Obama may give him a pardon about like Carter gave the deserters pardons during Vietnam.....the USA will be the one that suffers most....this country is totally going to Hell.
