FL: Relatives of Dead Teen Burglar Defend his Actions

Trevon Slick Johnson FL Shot 2016

It is common for the relatives of young criminals to find ways to justify their criminal actions, while at the same time criticizing as illegitimate, the actions of the person who shot them.  We see a clear example of this in the shooting of 17-year-old Trevon Slick Johnson in Florida, 10 March, at about 5:30 p.m.

The 54-year-old homeowner had been repeatedly burglarized.  She was alerted by the alarm system that she had installed.  Police say the woman shot the young burglar after a confrontation outside the home.  She observed him crawling out of a window before he was shot.  Police arrived seconds after the shooting.  Here are some of the words of young Trevon’s relatives. From cbslocal.com:

“What’s wrong with her,” asked Johnson’s sister Nisha Johnson. “She did not have to shoot him.”

“It’s no reason she should have waited until I think he walked out the yard to try to shoot him,” said Harris. “If she called the police already why would she shoot him?”

Relatives said they don’t believe Johnson stole anything from the home but detectives would not confirm that.

“You have to look at it from every child’s point of view that was raised in the hood,” said Harris. “You have to understand… how he gonna get his money to have clothes to go to school? You have to look at it from his point-of-view.”

Is it bad that a young man was killed in the middle of a burglary?  Yes, it is bad.  I know someone who committed a burglary in high school.  He was caught, returned the property, was frightened of the consequences, and became a productive and upstanding citizen.  I think that people can turn their lives around at

When your relatives and community support criminality, it is hard to lead an honest and productive life.

I’m afraid they believe it is “owed” to them and this culture has perpetuated so long I doubt the cycle can be broken. Last nite the wife and I were in a fast food place that had a tv on the wall, Obama was on espn doing his basketball picks when I heard a VERY YOUNG black child at another table chanting “obamanation” “obamanation” “obamanation”.......................that kid didn’t come up with that on his own that’s for sure.

I suspect that entire extended family could be wiped out and the human race would struggle on without them somehow.

And ... “Clothes for school?” B**** please, he wasn’t trying to get clothes for school. Look at the clothes he’s already got in that picture. This type of person is worse than useless. They are parasites and predators.

Apparently “Harris” believes that burglary is a legitimate means to acquire the “money” for clothes...

I don’t know about Florida, but I know that in New York you are not allowed to shoot, if they are fleeing. You are only allowed to shoot if they pose a threat to you or someone under your care.

#BLACKLIESMATTER considers violent crime to be a legitimate career path, and armed victims to be an OSHA violation.

You have to look at it from his point-of-view.

She did. But then she disagreed. Perhaps if he had just been more convincing.

Look at it from his point of view? Not during a home invasion.

For the same amount of time he spent burglarizing and then trying to sell stolen goods he could have probably asked the homeowner if they wanted a couple of hours work for pay

THAT’S how he could get some money for clothes.

Not cause hundreds of dollars of damage/loss for a few dollars and hours lost time.

Seriously... How stupid are these people?

I still say;

If shooter be white and shootee be black, shooter be fooked.

If the criminal Just-us system doesn’t get her, the civil Just-us courts will.

I didn’t know he was in Congress. What district does he represent?

Trevon Slick Johnson

...I’m thinking the name “Slick” was for a reason. My Doctors nickname isn’t Slick. Nor my lawyer, nor my accountant, nor my Realtor. Or anybody in my entire extended family of law abiding citizens.

I think “accessories” in a more appropriate term than “relatives.”
The cops should looking for reasons to bring them in.
