Yep, it was often said of him that he was as much of a giant intellectually as he was a midget physically. I think he was about 5'3" if I recall. It was only a little bit shorter than average back in those days.

George Washington, if I recall, was 6'2", the same height as me and was said to be a towering figure for the time. Nowadays, that is just a little taller than average for grown men.
