An Iowa City woman is accused of faking a domestic assault so she could have the father of her child arrested. ... Before officers responded to the scene, a co-defendant, 29-year-old Jessica Morales, punched Cole in the eye so she would have an injury, police said. Police said Cole was crying “hysterically” as she gave a false report about the assault. ... As a result of her actions, the father of Cole’s child — who also lives with Cole — was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Police said Cole and Morales admitted to having her child’s father arrested so he would be out of the house and she could have a romantic encounter with her boyfriend on her birthday.

My solution to all of this nonsense:
If you falsely claim to be a victim of a crime, that crime should be visited upon you.
Her nose and mouth look like those of Burt Young, the character actor.
I say you must serve a mandatory sentence of 3x the maximum of the false crime you report. No plea bargain. No parole.
Start locking a few up like that, a lot of this will end real quick.
Except for the most-stupid ones. Can’t fix that.
Romantic encounters should never be mentioned with that photo. It should be a crime.
Obviously one Punch was not enough...Hit that and hit it often with a fist, 2x4, lead pipe....SOMETHING.

A reprisal appropriate to serve as a deterrent. A suitable jail term. Go further. No driving, no cellphone, no internet, no television, no card purchases, etc.... whatever works. Make them squeak.
