There’s a path for Trump or Trump. Nobody else.
Some Trump supporters in here would bolt the party perhaps, though not nearly as many as you might think since for most of them Cruz was once the candidate they liked the most until Trump arrived on the scene.
Among the broader voter spectrum, only a small percentage pay close enough attention to politics to care one hoot about whether the nominee ends up being Cruz or Trump, although if it’s Cruz many of them might vote for Bernie if offered the chance since that’s who they supported before Trump showed up.
Trump, on the other hand, will almost certainly result in a 3rd party option. And if it’s Trump and Hillary, that option might get enough support to throw the election to the House of Representatives or possibly even win outright since the other two options would be a crook and a narcissistic buffoon. Interesting year.
Why would Trump ever want Cruz? Both Cruz and Trump know that Cruz does not own his support in the general. Besides, I don't believe that Cruz would even be tempted. That's why we TrustTed. GOPRIP.
