Former Florida Allies Assert on the Record That Rubio Is a Lazy, Devious Little Twerp
Slate ^ | March 14 2016 | Ben Mathis-Lilley

It is widely anticipated that Marco Rubio is going to get shellacked on his home turf in Tuesday's Florida presidential primary. A very unsympathetic Friday profile in the Tampa Bay Times suggests that part of the reason this is so is that Rubio's entire career has consisted of sweet-talking influential individuals into giving him big opportunities only to drop those individuals like hot rocks when another better thing comes along...

Pretty much every politician screws some people over; Rubio's problem at this point seems to be that he's got so few current allies that none of the people from his past are afraid of saying publicly that they think he's the worst...

Rubio is our problem. Slate can go # itself.

Marco Rubio had a 2.1 grade point average in high school. 2.1! That's terrible.

I guess Micro-Rubio has a good short-term memory. He’s able to rattle off memorized lines and statistics.

Exactly. That said, can anyone figure out why The Donald hasn't retweeted the Marco-Foam-io photos, or at least mentioned them, as an answer to the "hands/fingers" attack?

He doesn't go there. Trump is actually an exceptionally disciplined campaigner (no one has noticed this, shhh). Trump has his chosen lines of attack:

•Rubio's a no-show
•he "defrauded" Florida by ditching them instead of representing them
•he's weak on illegal immigration with the Gang of 8
•he sweats profusely
•guzzles water
•he's a lightweight ("Little Marco")

Three policy hits and three lighter mocking slams. Trump riffs on those specific hits, rat-tat-tat, every chance he gets, but won't go beyond them, he has his game plan and sticks to it.

And his game plan is effective. Devastating, even, as evidenced by the fact that "Little Marco" is about to be squashed like a bug on his home turf today.

I wonder why the NRO twerps haven’t bad-mouthed him yet.

He was supposed to be the GOP Clinton, suave and electable.

Ooops!

The fact those photos don’t specifically show Rubio in them might be a factor. You want Trump to roll the dice on the hope those suppositions are accurate?

“So now we’re so desperate to smear this man that we’re posting an article from Slate?? WTF happened to FR?”

I’ve been wondering that for months one FReeper said last night he’d rather see the dems retake the majority in the Senate “because maybe we can deal with them better than with the Republicans” and that “we need change.”

That would’ve been zot-worthy a year ago.

I’ve said it before and will say it again and again, “Rubio is nothing but a used car salesman” and THAT is exactly what he should be doing. He will lie, cheat and do what is necessary to get you to buy that car (vote) and drop you like a hot potato if something goes wrong. Buyer’s beware.

I think it’s that whole Evangelical martyr thing. Nothing makes them happier than dying for a good cause while everyone suffers. They gave us 8 years of Obama and have enjoyed every minute of victim-hood.

Not that I care, anymore, about Rubio, this is hardly a hard hitting piece. If a candidate for President, to dog catcher, has an (R) after their name, they'll be slammed by the St. Petersburg Pravda, err, Tampa Bay Times.

Personal attacks on Governor Rick Scott, are commonplace.

[...The Donald hasn’t retweeted the Marco-Foam-io photos, or at least mentioned them...]

The reason is, IMO, is quite simple because the images are not definative that it is really Rubio and would lead to Trump being called not only desperate but a total fool.

In the same vein, Rush has said repeatedly that Rubio is the the only one who recognizes that 0 is deliberately destroying our country.

Although we all know this is true, if Trump fell for that trap and stated it publicly, he would be attacked viciously by the left wing press, media ‘talking heads’, talk show hosts and the Hillary campaign as being a far right wing conspiracy nut job because it can’t be proved what 0’s real intentions really are.
