Hmm... was he trying for martyrdom? Maybe not to get killed, but at least to get arrested for the "cause"? Why else would he anticipate not needing a ride home?
Typically, in Greece, Italy and Spain....a martyr ends up dead....poems written of the guy and his feat of death....and a statue gets put up on some park place.
I just don’t see Tommy deserving of martyr status. Maybe he ought to take some history classes and note the price paid for such behavior.
