1st Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
I never noticed what appears to be somewhat contradictory clauses in 1st Amendment before. More specifically, although Congress is prohibited from making laws abridging the freedom of speech, the people also have the right to peacefully assemble.
No protester speech is impeded by the passage of this statute. The only thing impeded is they can’t cross the cordon set by the Secret Service during an event. Obviously Trump can’t exercise his first amendment right if he must appear on stage with Spike Lee right?
As long as they don’t abridge the rights of others.
You can protest what someone is saying but you have no right to shout-down some else’s rights. Carry a sign, okay. Yell and don’t let the other guy be heard and not okay.
