A movement is afoot to get the UN to predetermine borders between Israel and the future 23rd Arab state and to recognize "East Jerusalem" as its capital. Such predetermination would be in violation of the Roadmap which calls for a negotiated solution where "negotiated" implies freedom to say "no".

David Solway in The United Nations: Public Enemy Number One recommended that the US withdraw from the UN. He recites in a detailed way what is wrong with the UN and why it is the enemy of the US and freedom. But his polemic left out a reference to the overriding purpose of the UN. In 2001, John F McManus, the then president of the John Birch Society, gave a speech entitled The Plan to Have the UN Rule. He quotes from a State Department official in 1945..
"there is no provision in the Charter itself that contemplates ending war. It is true the Charter provides for force to bring peace, but such use of force is itself war. The Charter is built to prepare for war, not to promote peace. The Charter is a war document, not a peace document." Any nation that resists being controlled by the UN is deemed to be a threat to the UN’s definition of peace, thus the UN has authority under this section of its Charter to wage war to accomplish its idea of peace. Since 1937, the Palestinians (and all the oil rich Arab nations that support the Palestinians) have had innumerable opportunities to create a Palestinian State, if they were only willing to work with Israel. But they are not. The UN, EU, and Obama's insistence on blaming Israel for the Palestinians' misery reveal everything about their intention toward the Jewish state. The United States, once a stalwart in support of the Jewish State, has now become one of its greatest adversaries. What other enemy of Israel has the influence that the United States does?
The Prophet Joel wrote about the rebirth of Israel and how the entire world would one day be united against them. Joel states that the nations of the world would send forces, taking the side of the Palestinians, to redraw the border lines of the fledgling nation and part the land that God has promised them. It is for this reason that God's judgment comes on the world. It is in this Judgment that the Jewish people recognize their Messiah, the one who was pierced for their sins and the whole world's (Zechariah 12, Isaiah 53). The simple truth is that the only way that an imposed solution happens is if Israel’s capitol is occupied. As no one (including the president) seems to be able to name Israel’s capitol, I’m going to guess that such an occupation wouldn’t happen by the United States, as we wouldn’t know where to go.

If you read Ezekiel 38-39, it seems to predict a Russian (Magog) invasion of Israel. So perhaps Russia works with the UN to enforce its solution on Israel.?.?
