Islam is their religion, and it is very clear what it teaches about the West. That would have been the best Trump response. If pressed for more he could have added,
"If one doesn't share their faith, one is an infidel; look at their barbaric attitude about infidels as set out in their holy laws."
Further:
"Sharia law is substantially incompatible with our Constitution; however, they make every effort to implement it wherever they reside.
