Cool. But remember. An assisted suicide advocate in England has already come out for the government sending vans from house to house to punch the clocks of the “terminally aged”. I guess the politicians will have to decide how many years a person will be allowed to live but you can’t bet that the number will go down every year. I think I remember an old movie about this. I thought it was weird then too.

The problem here is the time line when something is allowed by the government and when something is required by the government. Heath insurance was something allowed and regulated by the government and now it is something required by law by the government. How long before assisted suicide is required for elderly non-producers within our society? Slippery slope here.

The movie I remember (read the book first) was Logan’s Run. Anyone over 21 was undesirable (over population was the current mass scare at the time the book was written) and required to go to a sleep shop on their 21st birthday. They were given a lethal dose of a pleasure drug that killed them. If they ran from this mandatory death sentence, they were hunted down and murdered with an excruciatingly painful ammo.
