Former Democratic California Rep. Joe Baca is running for a seat in the House, this time as a Republican.
Baca previously served in Congress as a Democrat from 1999 to 2013, before losing to fellow Democrat Gloria Negrete McLeod. In 2014, Baca ran for a seat in Californias 31st district but failed to make it out of the primary. California has a top-two primary system, where voters can choose any of the candidates in any party and then the top two candidates square off in the general election.
Baca will be facing the eventual winner of the 2014 race, Rep. Pete Aguilar, D-Calif., and will be one of three other Republicans running for the seat, along with Aguilar, another Democrat and another candidate whose party was not specified.

He wants to be a part of the Trump revolution.
Can’t say as I blame him, desiring it myself.
Welcome to the party, Mr. Baca! We don’t boo God over here.
Once a rat,always a rat.
I support Paul Chabot, who nearly won in 2014. But if Baca wants to run as a Republican, be my guest, I say.

He can change his spots . . . but is he still a commie? guilt by association, but likely on target.
Do you know who this guy is???
John and Ken Show KFI radio about illegal alien roundup and newly declared Republican Joe ( Chew) Baca
ctual enforcement obviously horrified the nouveau slavery crowd, the business interests working to reduce labor costs to as close to zero as possible. And Mexican revanchists like Rep. Joe Baca [Video] were also miffed. Baca marched into Under Secretary for Border and Transportation Security Asa Hutchinson`s office to demand that the raids end.
John and Ken wonder why no Republican Congressional representative in southern California has a passion for enforcement equal to Baca`s passion for illegals
Joe Baca needs a job.
Is he Mexican or Italian?
CA republicans need to stop him from doing so. he is a democrat and no help to them.
hee hee. you can’t make this stuff up.
All aboard the Trump train!
Workin’ Joe Baca a Republican? He actually isn’t a bad sort for a Democrat.
Sure, why not we have many Democrats masquerading as R’s...McConnell, Rubio, etc.
Seems good to me, but if he wins, his Republican colleagues should observe his voting pattern closely...in case it’s all just another demoncrat sham.
Something about a leopard and spots.
Ok, you can leave now... (I’m on board)
Sounds like he may have been recruited by Paul Ryan personally!
