That's true but realistically there is no other way to satisfy a temporary need for additional men in a local area.
That's the way it always works, this was just a organized plan to follow for which they could train.
The County sheriff was the first responder to an event, who could, if needed, call in the Texas Ranger over that area, who had the authority to utilize deputies from surrounding counties, or if he had the need, could shift DPS officers to the incident, and if needed, could call out 1000 guardsmen.
There's nothing wrong with the plan. What you are actually complaining about is a politician invoking the plan for political reasons, to make himself look good, or tuff on the illegals, which Perry did and Abbott is now doing.
A plan that was designed to be a temporary solution to a local incident becomes semi permanent, and eventually permanent.
A plan needs to be put in place that is run by Texas that is permanent because the Feds will not do anything to stop the flow.
And please, save your comment that the election this cycle will fix it. It won't. It is all bluster.
