Enough already.
It’d be a powerful pairing. I’ve been fond of the idea.
But they’ve verbally mauled each other enough, I don’t think it’s possible at this point.
Trump\Cruz was my dream ticket. It may still happen but Ted has burned too many bridges.
Cruz supporters like to hang at least one of their hats on the thought, or fact, that Cruz is one of the most hated and feared men in DC.
Thats why Cruz can’t run for VP, and I doubt Trump will have him.
It isnt a question of whether of not he is a Natural Born Citizen. Its the absolute certainty of a lawsuit engineered by the very people Cruz and his supporters use as one of the selling points for his conservative authenticity will tie the Republican efforts up in court.
Trump has said a number of times in his campaign that he isn’t taking any chances, and he won’t take a chance on this either.
How do you walk back that statement?
That would be a bad idea.
Kasich would be the worst pick. Kasich is not going to bring as many ppl to Trump as Cruz will
Boy after the last debate, and the slime thrown around, tag team attacks on Trump, I don’t know how to broker this deal. I think Cruz For Supreme Court. I’d be willing to look at Kasich or Scott as VP.
Will see what happens after March 15th
Could still happen. Politics is a blood sport. Teams playing for a championship can be very nasty towards each other leading up to the big game. But once the game is over, the winners and losers always line up to shake hands. As it will be between Trump and Cruz. I think it will be an unbeatable ticket.
I’d like it, but I suspect Trump will be force into choosing a RINO, like Reagan did...someone who can force things through Congress.
There is an unwritten rule that the nominee must pick it’s ideological opposite as a running mate. Thus we have moderates like McCain picking Sarah Palin and conservatives like Reagan picking Bush, Sr. The last winning Republican, Bush, Jr., followed this rule, picking Cheney, but conservatives got cheated because Cheney didn’t run in 2008. Trump is clearly a moderate, so it would behoove him to pick a conservative like Cruz as his running mate, and this time, finally, we would get someone who would run for President when his turn came.
Reagan/Bush II? No thanks.
Rafael Edward Cruz
Marco Antonio Rubio
Piyush "Bobby" Jindal
Nimrata "Nikki" Randhawa Haley
Cruz is only doing well because his opponents and the media hasn’t gone after him yet. Cruz had the luxury of not having Fox News run non-stop attack ads against him. They haven’t event begun to go after Cruz yet. He’s next.
If neither candidate has enough delegates, the one with the most gets the nomination as President, and the next highest gets Vice President. That's the deal that is not on the table yet because the primary elections have to be held to let the voters choose who they want. In the end, if he loves this country, he takes the deal.
Sorry, Cruz has been under attack for years—folks are delusional if they can’t see that.
Very good point. I don’t think Cruz has much faith in Trump’s abilities and would not want to get hit by the flying stuff when it hits the fan. If he stays out of a Trump admin he can always say “told you so” and start clean, without the baggage.
Trump for press secretary.
Does nobody remember that Trump has been saying for months that he believes Cruz is ineligible to be president? He has gone so far as to threaten to sue over it. How does he say now “I was only kidding?”
