I’m not sure I understand the problem. I presume we are talking here about the utility uniform, the BDU or ACU, or whatever it is called.

On our utility uniforms, U.S. Marines have NEVER worn combat patches of any kind. Nor, do we wear division patches, regimental insignia, and most often not even an American flag. It is a working uniform and doesn’t need a lot of decorating.

We have a name patch, a patch that says: “U.S. Marines” and most importantly, the thing that is on ALL of our uniforms and covers (hats), the Marine Corps Emblem, The Eagle, Globe and Anchor of the Corps.
