Donald Trump struck back at 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney Thursday, blasting the former Massachusetts governor for "begging" for his endorsement four years ago only to sharply criticize him now.
"I don't know what happened to him," Trump said during a rally in Portland, Maine. "You can see how loyal he is. He was begging for my endorsement. I could have said, 'Mitt, drop to your knees.' He would have dropped to his knees."
"Mitt is indeed a choke artist," Trump said. "He choked like I've never seen anyone choke. Other than Rubio."
Trump also said that his net worth is more than Romney's, claiming that one of his New York properties alone is worth more than the former Massachusetts' governor's net worth.

Celebrity mogul Donald Trump endorsed former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney in Las Vegas today.
“Mitt is tough, he’s sharp, he’s smart,” said Trump from the lobby of his Las Vegas hotel. “He’s not going to allow bad things to continue to happen to this country that we all love.”

In 2012 I was first for Herm Cain, and after he was sabotaged by the DC attack squad, I supported Nute.
In the general, I supported the GOPe nominee instead of Obama.
I supported my 2nd Rino, McCain the first. I now wish I had not voted at all.
Lift a rock up what you find is always better than a freakin Rino. I used to say to myself Romney was a better man than Obama.
After today I say Romney if that is an example of Mormon values, Romney is a horrid example of Mormon.
I watched the whole Trump speech he did a fine job rebutting Romney.
It was really stupid of Romney listing things like Trump vodka as supposed failures, when Trump is building a 300 room ultra luxury hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue, as just one example.
It’s AMAZING how much Mitt wants to dig up perceived dirt on Trump but he couldn’t dig up a teeny little ounce of dirt on BO when he had the chance. Talk to the hand Mitt.
Oh yeah and you didn’t vote for him did you? And up until today I was never ashamed that I did.
Trump already laid out his preemptive plan at his rally earlier in the day.
Dont make the mistake thinking that Trump didn’t know what he implied when said “I could have said, ‘Mitt, drop to your knees.’ He would have dropped to his knees.” The Don is the master of the double-meaning.
And you know what? I think Trump is right BOTH ways you that you can interpret his statement!
I remember how Trump was driven out of the race by the uproar after he said that Hillary got schlonged by Obama.
Still, after all this flurry, I know one thing.
I'll never be able to think of Mitt Romney without an unfortunate mental image.
