Actually his car blew up throwing the engine about 100 yards from the car. The car basically came to a rest on the palm tree while on fire (according to witnesses.)
I’ve seen the tree, it doesn’t have too much damage. Certainly not as if a car hit it at 40 mph, probably more like 10-20.
About 2-3 years after Bud Dwyer killed himself I found myself dating a gal in college whose father was a speech writer in Harrisburg and had been right in front of Dwyer at the time. The poor guy was still in therapy for having witnessed it.
Somebody didn’t want this guy to talk...
Not only OnStar, but also an airbag control module which will provide 5 to 8 seconds of pre-crash data, including speed, braking, and steering...if the module survived the fire.
she doesn’t know how to drive.
One of the TV stations in Pittsburgh ran the clip that day. I remember people pleading with Dwyer not to do it. Through some quirk, he enabled his wife to get his pension since he hadn’t gone to trial and been convicted.

WPXI as I recall. The unedited video is out there online for anybody who really cares to look for it. My old gf’s dad is visible in the audience.
I remember that event.....I think Dwyer might have been innocent. An attorney admitted years later that he himself lied to get a shorter sentence and causing Dwyer to be convicted. Shame....such a shame......
Natural death. No need for an autopsy.
Suck thirty-nine around here ...
Tom Hagen: When a plot against the Emperor failed... the plotters were always given a chance... to let their families keep their fortunes. Right? Frank Pentangeli: Yeah, but only the rich guys, Tom. The little guys got knocked off and all their estates went to the Emperors. Unless they went home and killed themselves, then nothing happened. And the families... the families were taken care of, Tom . Tom Hagen: That was a good break. A nice deal. Frank Pentangeli: Yeah... They went home... and sat in a hot bath... opened up their veins... and bled to death... and sometimes they had a little party before they did it.
A CNG vehicle.....
It was a CNG vehicle.....
I could swear I wrote BUCK Thirty-nine
