I was hoping so and pray you’re right, I don’t know the numbers it takes to override a veto in SD.

I live in the state, I’m not sure there are enough votes to override. I think the original vote in the legislature was pretty close. He completely caved to national pressure. Remember South Dakota gave the USA Mr. Daschle to deal with for a long time. Although we are a red state there is a long established Democratic power base here. McGovern was from here.

Well ... they just overrode the Governor's veto last March on an electric company tax. So it can happen. But I believe this bill's sponsor asked the legislature to let the veto stand. So ... I guess it depends on how many folks are willing to do what's right and buck the establishment. Takes courage; and courage is lacking these days.
