February 2016 Ratings: Fox News Is Most-Watched Cable Channel for 6 Weeks, Breaking 13-Year Record

Fox News has broken its own record that stood since the Iraq War. The channel has been the most-watched basic cable network for the past six weeks, which hasn’t happened since March/April 2003, at the start of the Iraq War. In prime time, FNC was up +22 percent in viewers and up +24 percent in the A25-54 demo. In total day viewing, FNC was up +20 percent and up +16 percent, respectively.

The ratings for February, 2016 (Nielsen Live + Same Day data):

Prime time (Mon-Sun): 2,220,000 total viewers / 427,000 A25-54

Total Day (Mon-Sun): 1,340,000 total viewers / 263,000 A25-54

Like its cable news competitors, the 2016 primaries have also been good to Fox News. But unlike CNN and MSNBC, FNC did not have the advantage of a primary debate in February. (That changes this week.) Hannity, which had multiple interviews with GOP candidates last month, showed the most growth: up +33 percent in both viewers and the demo. The O’Reilly Factor remains cable news’s No. 1 show, up +8 percent. The Kelly File (up +9 percent) follows, with Special Report with Bret Baier in third place. This was Baier’s most-watched month in the demo since November 2013.

So much for the claims that Fox News is losing viewers.

I bet they had to manipulate those figures some way.

Fox used to get more viewership for months on end, perhaps even a few years.

So what’s up?

I didn’t see the Fox News claim, but I do see the claim against the National Review.

I tuned in today and it’s been a barrage of anti Trump tids. The more they hate, the more that Donald extends his lead.

Most watched for Six Weeks, not an increase in viewership, only that for Six Weeks they bettered CNN and MSNBC.

On Breitbart the other day they showed the data that Fox had hurt themselves with right leaning people. Did they backfill with leftys?

Just give the scrunts and poofters on the staff a little more time and it will drop exponentially.

Trump need to skip the next Fox debate.

Or, Trump needs to tweet that he has a LOT to say about Newscorp owner Rupert “open borders” Murdoch during the Thursday debate!

Let ‘em sweat!

Last debate Boobio and Rafael tag teamed Donald, they smiled and shook hands behind Donald’s back it was a setup.

I figure he can just ignore the Fox debate if he is closing in on 25% of the vote needed for nomination.
The next 75% of the vote will be winner take all and I see Trump getting all the NJ, PA, NY, CA, FL, MI, IL, OH votes. Game over Milquetoast GOP establishment eunuchs
You have been Trumped

Read the article. They are not just beating CNN and MSNBC, they are the number one cable network, something that has not happened in years.

Fox polls lie, like the WSJ poll a Fox Paper.

I don’t believe their releases, they are responding to polls showing erosion of belief in Fox BS.

well, they lost me. I actually think that CNN is less hateful. I always watch the news in the morning over breakfast at 5 am, now it’s local news mostly.

You are confused. Everything that does not match your bias point of view has got to be manipulated. Despite a few hundred posters in complete painful agony over Megyn and vows to never watch, her ratings are up significantly. How can that be?

Just a few days ago, I heard Fox’s viewership by conservatives was down 30%. I guess you can craft a poll to measure whatever will produce a favorable result.”For the 11th year running, Fox is #1. favorite with viewers who like blonde, redheads and brunettes!”
