If the GOP establishment steals the nomination from Trump, I’ll boycott the GOP.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

You and millions of others. The only way I see the GOPe stopping Trump is for them to kill him. Murder is not beneath them, they hate Trump that much and that old harpy Barbara Bush is one of them. How dare Trump pick on her little Jebby.

“That would be a vote for Hillary.”

I believe the RINO’s will cut a deal with Hillary so that they can maintain some power. With Trump they see their sweetheart deals going away.

But keep in mind that Trump only earns the nomination through a majority of delegates and caucus/primary votes.

It’s suicide for the GOPe to steal the nomination away under such circumstances.

But what if Trump only wins a plurality?

Is leading the pack with totals in the 35% to 40% range enough to claim that anyone has “earned” the nomination? Does being able to cobble together a coalition that gives another candidate 60% to 65% of the vote mean that other candidate hasn’t earned the nomination?

The Establishment EARNED Trump the hard way: By selling out their conservative grass roots at every turn for decades.

I don’t think they get it. If they steal the nomination from Trump, he will have enough of the popular vote to go independent and take this to SCOTUS before the election. Since he would already have the delegate count, if SCOTUS kicks it back, Trump could then just run as a write in candidate.

Just what do you think he could take to SCOTUS? Sore loser laws? Since that is the province of the states, I don't think he could get through all of the state courts in time. Remember that SCOTUS has already accepted all of the cases it will hear this year, or will have very soon, and the new term will not start until October.

He would always have the option of running a write in campaign. All that would do is insure that Hillary will win, but I have come to the sad conclusion that will be the outcome regardless. If Trump doesn't get the nomination, his supporters will stay home. If Trump does get the nomination, the supporters of the other candidates, whom the Trump supporters have insulted and demeaned, will stay home or go 3rd-party. Either way, the eventual nominee is crippled in the general election.

We’ve been assured here that Trump doesn’t need other candidates’ supporters to win in the general.

Trump is not the ideal conservative candidate, heck, he's hardly a conservative at all. But the voters have to be respected. It appears that Trump has the support of more Republican voters than anyone else, so far. Of course, it's fair to challenge him, but is it the smartest thing to do?

If the GOP was smart (okay, that's a stretch), they would be embracing Trump and his supporters, and trying to figure out how to keep them engaged for the general election. As it is, it looks like they're going to undermine him every chance they get- even into the fall.

Ordinarily, I would view this as appalling.

But not as appalling as running Trump for president.

The plan won’t work because Rubio won’t drop out, and Romney’s numbers will be as bad or worse than John Ellis Bush’s.

He will be out wonked by Cruz on the right, and out talked by Trump from inside his head. An end as bad as Mondale running for the Wellstone seat.

So, because you hate Trump, you are willing to let the Establishment overturn elections?

I will let your words condemn you.

The average Cruz or Rubio supporter doesn't spend a lot of time worrying about what Trump supporters are saying about their candidate on the internet.

Almost all Republicans will vote for Trump, along with millions of independents and blue collar Democrats.

Who the heck do you think the gop wants to win if Trump is the nominee? Of course they want Hillary. So not supporting Trump, if the nominee, will get them their wish.

If GOP takes the nomination from the victor (presuming its Trump) its the end of the GOP. At that point they will have announced to the world that their “leadership” and arrogance are more important than any of its elections or members.

They announced that long ago and keep reinforcing the point. The latest being getting back the Senate and then rolling over for Obama again and again. They don't care that the voters gave them it back so they could stop Obama. What's important to them is how they look to the MSM and the GOPe leadership and the voters be damned.
