On Thursday, 18 February, 2016, a robber and store clerk Seul Lim exchanged shots in Lims Pacific Quickmart. The robber is believed to be Tyrone Prophet, Jr.
Prophet is 23, Lim is 30. Police believe that Prophet may have been involved in a string of armed robberies in the area, one of which involved a shooting of another clerk.
In the shootout, one shot was fired by each of the two participants. Lim missed and Prophets shot hit Lim in the abdomen. A .380 pistol was recovered when Prophet was arrested. It is likely that the shot by Prophet did not puncture the abdominal wall, as Lim was treated and released from the hospital the same day.
Clerk Seul Lim, 30, and the accused gunman Tyrone Prophet Jr., 23, each got off one shot, authorities told Q13 Fox. His bullet struck Lim in the abdomen. Hers just missed his head.
Prophet is accused of being the masked gunman who walked into Lims Pacific Quickmart in Spanaway Thursday afternoon.
In the video, which is just more than 1 minute, a masked gunman demands money from Lim. She surrenders cash from the till and then pulls out of gun hidden near the register when the robbers head is turned.

There are several lessons to be learned from this shooting. Notice that the robber has a very difficult time watching all his surroundings. He is constantly turning and looking, attempting to cover all possible security threats. This leaves him open to the defensive fire of Lim. (Correction added) It appears that the robber racks the slide as

No Prophet is accepted in his hometown.

I don’t know the area, but if there are a lot of Tyrone’s people in the area it is time for some bulletproof glass. Instead of marauding through a store, you enter an enclosed vestibule and point out to employees what you need; they fetch it and pass it through a safe portal.
Expensive, but you don’t get shot. Newark NJ fast-food places operate like this.
obama’s son. You just can’t seem to trust anyone named “Tyrone” for some reason.
While waiting for the clerk to get the stuff he ordered, the kid came in behind him and fired the fatal shot to the head.......The Wire (west Baltimore)
I’ve lost faith in the .380 after reading this.
A .45 in the same place would likely have had the same result.
That is a most curious observation considering the vast differences between a .380 and .45.
Omar was my favorite character on that show.
Shoot him more than once.
The velocities of the two cartridges are comparable. The penetration is a bit more with the .45, but not a huge amount.
The .380, in this case, did not penetrate the abdominal wall. Maybe it only hit her side and made a slight wound; maybe she was wearing a vest; maybe it was only a grazing shot; but almost certainly, a .45 in the same place would have produced a very similar result.
To be clear, when I wrote “maybe she was wearing a vest”, I was refering to a bullet resistant vest.
Vests that will stop a .380 will stop a .45.
blacks complaining of not getting their fair share of Oscar nominations. What crap, these black films are terrible!
What I described allows no access to a perp; they can’t even touch you.
That’s a damning indictment of Newark, NJ.
Absolutely - and an indication of how one has to do business on the welfare reservations. Chinese restaurants with no seats - all take-out, from behind bulletproof glass; banks built like Fort Knox for the same reason. Even the White Castle, which does have seats, gives a perp no access to the employees - even through the drive-through.
Dat's WACIS!!!
Maybe if they cut out the "m*****-f*****'s in prime time people would be more sympathetic.
Most black films lack a story.
