You apparently may not have noticed, but this place is not what it used to be. It is populated by rude, arrogant, profane and racist posters. There was a time, posters were interesting, intelligent and even if you did not agree with them, they were agreeable. Those folks are long gone. I have posted my share of rude/mean posts, but as Trump revels in and contributes to the coarsening of our culture, his supporters here are more bold with their racist and mean posts.

I largely agree except for the reference to racist posts. It seems to mostly come from the pro-Trump crowd who react to anything said against their candidate like crazy leftists do when you argue with them about global warming or religion. We need to be careful not to become like our enemies.

I’m sorry if you can’t handle it, but people do get a bit emotional when their BACKS ARE AGAINST THE WALL.
Which is the case for this country...at this point, if we even make it another year.
It's as if there's a faction here who'd like to see FR become the equivalent of DU for (self-proclaimed) "conservatives".
No doubt some would prefer such people would be zotted. But personally, I'm glad that's not been the case. Tolerance and self-policing still work well here.
