On a day that marked the first time in 10 years that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas uttered a single word from the bench, the British-based tabloid Daily Mail mocked Thomas’s rare inquest in a vile headline: “IT SPEAKS! Justice Clarence Thomas asks a question in court for the first time in 10 YEARS in gun case .”
Associate Justice Thomas questioned a government lawyer in a case to determine whether those guilty of committing domestic violence can lawfully have their Constitutional right to possess firearms restricted.
Thomas asked the lawyer to list an instance when a “misdemeanor violation suspends a Constitutional right.”
In a Tweet from the Daily Mail official Twitter account, the tabloid took on a much more respectful tone.

That’s racist. From the all inclusive, haughtily tolerant, conspicuously diverse left media.
Waiting for sharp denunciation by other media. Not holding breath.
Justice Thomas is the new conservative on the court now. They’re going to really go after him.
Anyone who doesn't think that's a very penetrating question hasn't been keeping track of the assault on the Second Amendment. I will confess to stupidity - not for the first time - when I admit I never thought of that.
People are perfectly free to disdain the proven erudition of Justice Thomas, but they do so at their peril.
I think Judge Thomas was deeply traumatized by those ugly court hearings concerning Anita Hill. The trials went on for months. They were treating him worse than O.J.”They” included both Joe Biden and Senator Ted Kennedy.
I think with the recent death of his spiritual big brother Judge Scalia, Thomas understands that the time has come to step up to the plate and that requires speaking up.
Good luck to Judge Thomas. I know his wife supports him.
Scalia is no longer there to ask the key questions.

At a minimum it is NOT the first time in 10 years that Clarence Thomas spoke from the bench. One has only to look back at various hearings, such as during the consideration of the “mandate” for obamaumaocare— when Thomas spoke and asked questions of the jurists and of counsel. And many more prior to that case, including Heller.
Where do these people get this crap? Like the implication being since he doesn’t talk he must be... slow?
