Currently the grand son of Ferdinand Marcos is I believe running for president or Senate in the Philippines. I wonder if he is a monster?
Reads like the history of the royal families the world over during what we call the middle ages.
for later
Interesting subject, although the kids who didn’t turn out to be messed up (like Stalin’s daughter and Castro’s daughter, discussed at the end) are the ones who really fascinated me.
In that vein, I was intrigued to learn of Romano Mussolini, Il Duce’s youngest son - Romano (sometimes under an assumed name) became a world-reknowned jazz pianist who played with his own trio as well as some of the biggest names in post WWII jazz. He wrote an autobiography that was somewhat sympathetic to his father, but largely stayed away from politics and focused on music, painting and cinema.
On the other extreme, it’s hard to beat those clowns in Norkland - every Kim Il Whatever reminds me of the movie “Multiplicity” - each copy comes out a little more messed up. One more generation in power and it’s hard to imagine what sort of idiocy will result.
