I have a somewhat different take on this endorsement. The endorsement of Trump by Christie is a recognition by the establishment that Trump has much in common with the establishment and that they will be able to work with him. After all, Trump is not a conservative and does not have a particular political philosophy. In addition, he will bring many more voters to their side than Romney ever did.
Christie needs a new job....he’s done in 2017
Christie said this of Mr. Trump:....
“We are not electing an entertainer in chief. Showmanship is fun, but it is not the kind of leadership that will truly change America.”
Yet On Friday he said of Mr. Trump:..... “He’s a good friend. He’s a strong and resolute leader and he is someone who is going to lead the Republican Party to victory in November.”
Looks like everybody today wants it both ways on every issue and candidate.
