Geneva, N.Y. - An Ontario County destination spot has reportedly added a charge line onto its food bills.

Belhurst Castle, located in Geneva, now displays a line in its receipt subtotals as a "NYS Labor Surcharge."

Tim Girvin knew the romantic meal with his Valentine would cost over $100. What he didn't expect was an extra fee.

Wonder if the guy is a libtard who voted to raise the minimum wage and did not expect it to affect him.

Please tell me how Mr. Girven has voted over his adult life?

Probably. Travel a little farther south and the young mayor of Ithaca is proposing safe heroin shooting sites.

“We were kind of like, ‘Wow, they really are passing it on to the consumer now.’ We were a little shocked at that,” Girvin said.

Most folks do not understand that all business taxes and expenses are paid by the consumer.

Raise the cost of doing business and the product WILL cost more.

Great idea.

Dems are ALWAYS citing polls that say that most Americans claim they are willing to pay more to have the minimum wage raised, yet look at how they flock to cheap stores like Walmarts, especially poor Dems.

(Probably dont use Amazon because that requires a credit card. )

Heck I was taught that in grade school (during the sixties and seventies)

Guess that is no longer taught. However they ARE teaching the 11th graders about the “60s” in history class (insert massive eyeroll)

Reading the article, it suggests people have to (should) think about eating there. So, due to the extra charge people don’t dine there. The place has to charge more to make up for the lost clientele. Even less people eat there and the place goes out of business. Socialist mission accomplished.

Yeah, that's shocking all right. Vote for Bernie and you won't have to tip, because your meal would be FREE!

Definitely liberal. Voted for it if he voted (an amazing percentage of rabid liberals don't vote, in my experience).

The charges began popping up to offset the cost of health care mandated by the Affordable Care Act.

As the stores, art galleries and restaurants close in my area I keep saying the money for Obamacare has to come from somewhere, it doesn't grow on trees.

Businesses that have expenses greater than revenue cease to exist.

Arbitrarily increase their expenses and they can either arbitrarily increase their charges or cease to exist.

The most dangerous place on earth is between a liberal and THEIR money. They are fine spending other people’s money though.

I guess they don’t teach math in school anymore. Math is too close to reality, and if kids know math, they’ll reject stupidity like liberalism and especially socialism.

Best lesson I ever had as a kid was two summers working for an older friend’s grass cutting business.

He showed me all of the government paperwork involved in employing me. Including the fact that he had to come up with his half of my FICA matching out of his own pocket.

I felt bad because he was married with two young children at that point.

“Vote for Bernie and you won’t have to tip, because your meal would be FREE! “

There are reports that one of Bernie’s first official acts as president, will be to direct the Dept. of Agriculture to plant thousands of “Free $hit Trees!” My guess is that anyone who would actually vote for him would also believe that “Free $hit” grows on trees! Bernie has sewed up the Gibbsmedat vote!
