Justice Department promises crackdown on sanctuary cities

The federal Bureau of Prisons will now try to deport illegal immigrants rather than turn them over to sanctuary cities, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Wednesday in a bid to solve the situation that may have led to the death of Kathryn Steinle last summer.

Ms. Lynch also said she'll begin an audit of sanctuary cities to see if they're violating federal law, and those that are found to be actively stymying immigration agents' work could lose grant funding.

I have doubts about this because of the timing, 0bama trying to nominate a SCOTUS, Donald Trump's proposed policy on illegals, etc. but it's way past time to crack down on them.

Lynch's new found approach is NOTHING MORE THAN POLITICAL POSTURING FOR A SCOTUS CONFIRMATION, attempting to appear more moderate.

During her first term as Michigan’s Governor, Jennifer Granholm (D) announced her special program for declaring what are “Cool Cities” throughout the state and I’ve always suspected that “Cool Cities” was just code for sanctuary cities. I don’t know if that was the ulterior motive but it makes sense to me, having paid close attention to her rhetoric and actions during both of her terms.

Yeah, sure.

The EAC ruled states could require proof of citizenship for voter registration, a suit was filed against the EAC and the DOJ is required by law to represent them. They refused and in fact joined the plaintiffs, the judge had a fit and rightfully so.
