âIt is clear the Kurds of today are different. The Turks are not.â
Why don't they just join forces and call themselves the 'Turds'?

Kurds recognized their part in the genocide. It is one of the reasons they want out of Turkey because they blame the Turks for manipulating their people into participating.

In the dark recesses of my memory, I recall old “Syrians” at church when I was a kid telling stories about the Kurds attacking Christian villages, not just Orthodox, but also Syriac villages. Generally the people hid in walled local monasteries until the marauders left.
