Humans tend to “humanize” things.

The problem is we will think these devices are “human” long before they could possibly become self aware. If this robot looked more human, you would have demonstrations in the streets complaining about “microaggression”.

Spooky is right. What was really spooky was that to “test” him the guy was essentially abusing the robot..hitting it with a hockey stick, etc. What happens when someone programs in a defensive mode? Instead of going after the box and repeatedly tries to do the same thing it goes after the human? Like a terminator. It won’t stop.
