Free speech in social media is a hot topic, particularly when it comes to hate groups and extremists who use various social media platforms to spread their hateful message to would be followers. Twitter and other social media platforms insist that they are hard at work as they seek to eliminate the promotion of groups like ISIS, but what steps are they really taking?

I just tweeted something with #Jesus in it. I didn’t get that message.
I HAVE experienced some tweets not appearing in certain trends or some of my tweets not appearing apparently because the tweets aren’t acceptable to Twitter.
It can take some seconds for tweets to appear in a trend, and in popular trends there’s usually some delay, but I’ve checked carefully when I don’t quickly find them and some just don’t ever show up.
There’s nothing in any of them that are in any way offensive, either; it’s merely been their information content that gets them blocked. I’ve also had tweets that include links not appear, and again for similar reasons.
I dunno. I just put the post up for others to consider....
I just checked twitter, and saw numerous posts to #jesus that was posted in the last hour.

Check the article. He was attempting to advertise the hashtag, at the invitation of Twitter.

The article MAY be a ruse....but the info IS out there....He claims to have tried to respond to an offer to advertise his tweet and claims he was rejected.....
Tell me, how do you know his claim is false?

Yeah, I didn’t think to post the whole thing....but it has to do with ad buying or promotion....some think the story is a lie.....but I thought it was at least worth discussing.
I suppose someone could try and PAY to promote a #Jesus tweet and see what happens.
