ZACTLY!!
-Now his father must fear reprisals from his fellow Pali neighbors, plus be made a paraiah,-
Most likely this was done for political purposes. No competent Israeli would actually expect somebody living in the territories to turn in a terrorist, let alone a family member. If he did that person-s lifespan could be measured in hours.
As a lawyer, I have occasion to be involved in some cases that involve proceedings in Israel that may affect legal rights or cases here where I practice. Between that exposure to the Israeli legal system, and what you learn from news items like these, I must say that Israel has a very messed up legal system. An A.G. gets to dictate major anti-terror policy decisions on his own? Supreme Court judges picking other Supreme Court lawyers? Administrative detention? I’ve read judicial decisions from Israel as well. While they can be very sophisticated, I am shocked at how the judges basically either make stuff up or decide on their own to expand, modify or reject legal principles and rules at the drop of a hat. I also found some of the judges to be shockingly and openly political in their decision making. Sad.
