Bill Bolling: Is this the end for the GOP?
Richmond Times ^ | Bill Bolling | Bill Bolling (R-VA)

Posted on 02/22/2016 11:56:54 PM PST by ObamahatesPACoal

In a recent op/ed in the Washington Post, columnist Eugene Robinson argued that “it is no longer possible to think of the Republican Party as a coherent political force.” Robinson further argued the current Republican Party was “factionalized and out of control.” Unfortunately, Robinson was correct in his assessment of today’s Republican Party, and that should worry us all.

(SNIP)

First, they are not so much conservative as they are anti-government, and there is world of difference between those two things.

Last night I posted what I thought was a very balanced comment on the 7th district congressional election. I expressed my personal disappointment that Eric Cantor lost, congratulated David Brat on his victory, and expressed concern over the deep divisions that currently exist in our party. I encourage you to read the comments that were made in response. The negativity and vitriol of these comments (dare I say the hate in some of them) reflects what is wrong in our party right now. We have to learn to disagree without being disagreeable, and we have to learn to respect the views of other people. Until we are able to do that, the divisions in our party will continue to deepen and we will become weaker and weaker.

>> Is this the end of the GOP?

Unfortunately, not. The culture of Establishment corruption runs deep.

Throw the bums out. Make them actually do something for a living. ALL of them. Bunch of parasites, they are destroying their ‘host’ body, US.

Americans want government that works for them.

But that’s not what Washington is doing. Its catering to people who least need it.

I don’t want to fight people but the truth of the matter is that government is way out of control in a financial and a regulatory sense.

Its literally a national emergency with a national debt programmed by the Republican leadership in conjunction with Obama and the Dems to top 18 trillion or more by the time our next president takes office next year.

I wish the anger of the people were directed at this matter, but its in other places.

Mr. Bolling needs to accept the mood of the people and take meaningful action to meet their concerns, especially on the matter that angers them the most, immigration.

Mr. Bolling needs to bring spending under control once and for all as far a I am concerned.

The Republicans in general need to take dramatic action to end government regulation here, there and everyone even defunding and shutting down outfits like EPA and OSHA, leaving those matters to the states.

This is an actual emergency and the Republican Party needs to tune to the ‘emergency frequency’.

They’re moaning over lost power. All the rest of their arguments just cloud up that one fact. For a long time we the people accepted that government knew what they were doing. We accepted their so called wisdom. No longer. Its painfully obvious that they have simply been enacting their own agenda and its only about maintaining power, control if you will. To hell with them.

Additionally, Mr. Bolling needs to cease giving any attention to Eugene Robinson. Sheesh.

I was just reading a financial statement from the corporation at which I’m currently employed. They enjoy the fiction that there will be Social Security payments available in the future.

This generation needs to understand that $18 TRILLION debt is unsustainable for a civilized culture. We are facing riots in the streets, where people steal things like toilet paper. Oh, wait .....

People like Bolling enable the Democrat Party and assure people like Terry McAwful win the Governorship and Zero wins the Presidency. No Bill Bollings mean Conservatives get nominated and win.

Neither the dem nor the gop will ever be the same

All the guy did was announce his candidacy, and America was fundamentally changed .... and THIS time ... for the better

That's like complaining that the dog is snappish and growly, after it's been kicked 139 times.

Ain't the dog's fault, bub.

Indeed, the adage of our time.

One of the signs of good governance is maintaining budgets.

This is something that neither the Democrats or Republicans seem able or willing to do.

I don't care if people in the government thoughtfully reflect upon various alternatives and come to keen decisions on what is best for the American people.

If it costs more than they are able to tax us, then we just don't get to have that thing done.

I pray he stays on the scriptural side of righteousness.

His language and gruff manner is not that great a concern to me ... God can fix all that ... but how he performs the tasks he will be obligated to, will be the bellweather for America's future

No, we don't need to be 'civil' with those who constantly have stabbed us in the back!

The GOPe thinks they can ignore the grassroots for 2 years and then ask us to help them 'stop Obama' when they have given him everything he asked for!

This is a war and I doubt the GOP is going to survive since the leaders are on the side of the globalists and are anti-American!

We gave the GOP control of the Senate and the largest majority in the House since the 1920's and what have they done?

They gave Obama his 'free trade' agreement.

They are about to give him whatever he wants in the budget

And they are about to let him nominate a Supreme Court judge!

“$18 TRILLION debt is unsustainable”

http://www.usdebtclock.org/

We already passed $19T, and we’ll reach $20T shortly after President Cruz or President Trump takes office.

Not our problem if he doesn’t. We’ll move on.

Regarding language, the pretense of meaningful decorum has worn its welcome. And it’s nonetheless a filthy pleasure to piss on the GOP-e

Isn’t it ironic that the ones that inflict the worst amount of damage on our republic are the ones who demand “civility” and “tolerance” for their treason ?

Throw the bums out. Make them actually do something for a living. ALL of them. Bunch of parasites, they are destroying their 'host' body, US.

The problem isn't exclusive to, but is concentrated in the Northeast.

Call a con-con, toss the six New England States by refusing to extend them an invitation to join the New Union (just the way, behind Quincy Adams's leadership in the 1830's and 1840's, Congress refused Texas admission to the Union), and simply "dropping" them, for having a) stirred up the Civil War, b) turned the U.S. into an East Coast Millionaires' Yacht Club and private prebend of the superrich, and c) having received, hosted, and made welcome myriads of Leftist scumbags -- flaming Bolsheviks, cold-bloodely murderous Stalinists, Communist professors and Alinskyites, and what have we got? -- and finally d) "sent hither swarms of officials" or however that language goes, to batten and fatten on the rest of the Union the same way the original Four Hundred (or is it Six Families? -- David Mamet knows) did 19th-century America, building dams that broke, railroads that ripped off farmers, and buildings that burned like torches (see, "Triangle Shirtwaist Fire").

Workers got Pinkerton beatdowns, lockouts, unilateral wage actions (in Andrew Carnegie's most infamous case, 50%), the time clock, management espionage, and lots of other charming little modern touches that let the slaves know how much less important they are than their exalted overlords.

There are plenty of reasons for starting over without the baggage -- and without 30,000,000 Democrat voters. Think about it.

The 'rot' is no longer limited to the Northeast... It is wide and it is deep.. Look at any spending bill... Few if any do not get something slipped in for their owner donors.
