Bernie Sanders Net Worth (2 Million Counting Assets)
Full Net Worth ^ | October 14, 2015

Posted on 02/22/2016 8:15:03 AM PST by xzins

Born on September 8, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, Bernie Sanders transferred to University of Chicago from Brooklyn College during his freshman year and got active in Civil Rights Movement. With a degree in political science, Sanders moved to Israel on short term and started working as a writer, filmmaker and researcher to make his living.

Bernie Sanders got involved in politics after joining the anti-Vietnam War Liberty Union Party in 1971 after which he ran in and lost elections for the US Senate and governor from 1972 to 1976. He again ran in for the Mayor of Burlington in 1981 and won the contest while also winning three more terms. By 1988, Sanders was known to be an independent politician and he ran for the US House of Representatives, winning in his second time in 1990 . He became the first independently elected representative in 40 years after Frazier Reams of Ohio and eventually made his name winning reelection in 1994.

He was often called ‘an ineffective extremist’. However, Sanders ran for the Senator race in 2005 after Jeff Jeffords retired. He was campaigned by big names in US politics including New York Senator Chuck Schumer and then-senator Barack Obama and was reelected in 2012.

Sanders is said to run for the Presidential elections 2016 as a Democrat. His base salary is $174,000 per year as a Senator and is also considered the 84th most wealthy Senators according to OpenSecrets.org.

He is married to Jane O’Meara Driscoll and has a child and three step children. As of 2015, Bernie Sander’s net worth stands at $2 million including his assets.

Net worth is not income. Bernie wants to tax income and keep his fortune.

Bernie hates “millionaires and billionaires”. Does this mean Bernie is self loathing.

Not to worry. He’s going to give it all to Planned Parenthood and move into a cardboard box till November. How did Bernie accumulate two million on the only jobs he’s ever had...on the public payroll?

Of the top 3 Rs and the 2 Ds, that makes Rubio the pauper. Looks like the Bern is above Rubio and below Cruz, Hil and of course the Trumpster leads the league.

How does a person who has been a government employee for the past 35 years amass $2 million?

What happened to the part where Bernie lived in a sugar shack with a dirt floor and wrote porn to put food on the table?

IIRC, just 10 years ago Obama entered the Senate as a “hundred-thousandaire”. He is now a multi-millionaire.

How does that work?

A ghost writer pens a book, unknown folks pay you millions for “your book” (quid pro quo), or your movie rights, or...whatever.

If you count their foundation/crime syndicate operation, apparently the Clintons also control over a billion dollars.

Psst...his congressional campaign paid his wife tens of thousands of dollars for ‘consulting’. Same goes for his step-daughter.

Oh yeah...his wife, while president of a college, paid her own daughter six figure salaries for some make-work job.

...and that same college had students ‘study abroad’ at a resort owned by Bernie’s political pal.

Then his wife bilked the local diocese out of $1.5 million.

Oh, and this college (remember Sanders’ wife is the president) paid Sanders’ stepdaughter’s ‘woodworking school’ a half million dollars to run a ‘masters of fine arts in woodworking’ program.

These rats are all alike.

That’s not as far fetched as $100 grand off a $1K cattle futures investment.
When Sanders started running his net worth was reported to be between $550 and $700K.
I question all these numbers that are bandied about. I remember it was said Pelosi was worth between 7 and 25 million! That’s some huge spread!

He is not a 1%er in income or in net worth.

The top 1% in income starts at a household AGI of $410,000. He does not even make half of that from his salary, and has little other income.

The top 1% in net worth is a little harder to pin down, but it is generally thought to be about $3.5-4.5 million in assets. Since 1 household in 14 in the US has a net worth of $1 million or more, being a ‘millionaire’ no longer puts you in the top 1%.
