Officials at California's four-year public universities are reaching out to an estimated 10,000 undergraduate students who might qualify for a special loan aimed at reducing their tuition - a program that further distinguishes the state as a national trendsetter in providing services to immigrants who are in the country illegally.
The California DREAM low-interest loans are designated for such immigrants who are enrolled at UC or Cal State University campuses. Gov. Jerry Brown signed the program into law in 2014, but funding didn't become available until last month.
Zenen Jaimes Perez, policy analyst for United We Dream, the country's largest immigrant youth-led organization, said California has set a national precedent in establishing rights for people living in the country illegally.
"When I travel to other states, a lot of folks are wondering, 'How do we get to where California is?'" he said.

Every time an illegal alien receives something for "free" or at less than market rates
the government has to extort more money from working US taxpayers to pay for it.

It will be interesting to see the percent that actually graduate, and even more interesting, the percentage that pay off their loans. If the message given is that obeying laws is irrelevant, then why should they bother paying off their debts? Won’t that be forgiven as well?
Graduate with what type of degree? Physics? Neurosciences?
Americans get the HIGH interest loans and the illegals get the low interest loans they will never ever pay back.
Californistan is a neighboring, hostile Communist foreign country. Not only will I never enter, I won’t even violate it’s airspace.
Well, I guess it would depend on WHICH of their ‘aliases’ they’ll be using, is it not?
Not as if anything they take will be viable to begin, being illegal to hire the illegal(s) as it is...
