Trump: ["Art of the Deal"]:

The final key to the way I promote is bravado.

I play to people's fantasies.

People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do.

That's why a little hyperbole never hurts.

People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular.

I call it truthful hyperbole.

It's an innocent form of exaggeration - and a very effective form of promotion.

But, but, but.....Trump has changed since he wrote that. He’s not a wheeler dealer anymore. He’s not like that anymore. Ted Cruz is a nasty guy and liar. Trump has never lied. Trump lost Iowa because he stole votes from that great guy Dr. Carson (although he wasn’t so great when he was running neck and neck with Trump in the fall. THen he was a liar and a pedophile)

Do I sound like a real Trumpster yet?

Much preferred to outright lies and deception. Don't' you think?

Oh, I forgot, you will never forgive Trump for Walker pulling out of the race.....

That excerpt from "Art of the Deal" actually captures a lot of Trump's appeal. Yes, he thinks big and as a result, people get excited. They really do want to "Make America Great Again."

Ronald Reagan had the same appeal. He too thought big and changed the world. It will be refreshing to have a president like that again.

Thanks for the good post on Trump. I knew you could be won over eventually.
