This appears to be one of the most thoughtful threads about Trump/Cruz/Rubio I have seen on FR for some time.

For what its worth, which is just this man’s opinion, one vote, here is my “opus”.

Despite Laz’s daily countdown thread, I am afraid I agree with Travis. I don’t think Obama is leaving. I think a “Black Swan” event, war, and grid collapse are in our immediate future.

I am prepared as well as one could be prepared for that eventually. Therefore, I sit here having to contemplate physical survival.

However, it may not happen, therefore I have cast my vote for Trump in the Florida primary. Anyone from Florida knows Rubio’s history and record.

The only choice is Trump or Cruz. I am a logical thinker, my wife is an intuitive thinker. I have learned over the years to trust her “reading” of individuals we have encountered over the years. She nails them. I tend to give them the doubt, and am always proven wrong. She absolutely does not trust Cruz. Since day one. I tried to convince her of his intelligence, his knowledge of the Constitution, etc. etc. etc.... As she read the email spam we received after sending a small contribution, I grew tired of trying to defend him. Then the “ vote mailer” blackmailing and intimidating voters, Carson blast, I had to give up.

We trust Trump. We think he will get the “Blue dogs”. We think he will win. We think he will honor the trust the American people have placed in him and will be OUR President.

I hope and pray he gets that chance. That would mean I am not hunkered down and having to consider shooting my “neighbor”.

Having said that, if Trump became the nominee, I would vote for him every day of the week and twice on Sundays...and in a New York minute. I would vote for Rubio if he were the nominee. I would vote for Carson or Kasich as well. All of them are talented and loyal Americans IMHO, despite whatever other failing they may have.

Well said. Every red-blooded American voter should keep his/her eye on the ball. It's amazing how many lose track of these simple principles.

When voting for a President will make a bona fide difference, VOTE!

Excellent. We'll put you down for Donald Trump then.

Is this irony, Laz?

You CAN put me down for the Trumpster.

My question is: Do you believe that Satan's "victory" is not only already assured, but imminent, such that there is nothing we can now do to counter it, even with God's Grace on our side?

Of course you know that Satan is (unavoidably) the biggest loser in all of cosmic history, in all of eternity -- AND he already knows that. He just wants to take down as many of God's Own with him as he possibly can, just for spite.

Perhaps he is pre-destined to succeed in this. But to me, this does not relieve us, those who love God with our whole heart and soul and mind and strength, of the obligation of undying witness unto the Glory and Truth of our Father Who art in Heaven....

We are saved by His Grace, through the redemptive sacrifice of His only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Call me a cockeyed optimist if you will.... But I do believe that what men do in the here and now can make a difference -- God willing. We seek the restoration of the civil order of our society.

But if it be His Will that Satan's "victory" is indeed imminent, then MARANATHA JESUS!!!

'loser' is the root word for 'lucifer'.

If I look at Trump and Rubio...they have done similar things and more...over and over again. None of the front runners are clean in this.

Oh really. Are you suggesting that, just because Joe Blow does some mean and evil thing, that it's okay for me to do that mean and evil thing?

Sounds like a prescription for defining deviancy down to me, and making it more generalized in our society.

Dear Jeff, it looks like you're making a case for moral equivalency here. Surely you don'r mean to do that. For that is precisely what is destroying our society.

Trump was saying all the things I've longed to hear from a presidential candidate for decades. It didn't take long for me to do enough due diligence to find my comfort zone with him. I now fully support him, and look forward to giving him my vote in the primary and the general.

Same here, dear Windflier.

The more I see him (and actually LISTEN to what he's saying, as opposed to merely critiquing his bumptuous speech), the more I like him.

Shades of Ronnie Reagan here....

Plus he actually BUILDS beautiful, enormously complex stuff "on time and under budget." Managing and directing hundreds if not thousands of people with all kinds of specialized skills in the process. He's no idle talker -- like most politicos. He is single-mindedly goal-oriented, and knows how to GET THINGS DONE.

If he says he wants to Make America Great Again, not only do I believe him; but I think he can do it.

Thanks ever so much for writing, dear Windflier!

Etymologists will insist that ‘luce’ or light is the root word for ‘lucifer’, but we all know our Father in Heaven is just playing a joke on them. :)

Might as well gamble on Trump. There is absolutely no way that he could be worse. At worst I get same old same old.... At best I get someone who lives up to everything he says.... At middling, I get someone who does some of what he says.... It's Trump for me, betty. "The only thing I have to lose is losing itself!"

I agree with you 100% dear brother in Christ!!!

At the very least, his election as president would instantly cause the "Washington Cartel" status quo to IMPLODE: He owes nobody nuthin'. "Pay-to-Play" gets reset to Square One. Plus "politically correct speech" might be shown up for the vacuous, mindless BS it truly is.

Thank you ever so much for writing!

No...not at all, betty. You know me far better than that.

I believe an objective read of my entire post would make it clear that I am not.

Anyhow, as I say, each has to decide for themselves...but in the end, we will have a nominee to run against Hillary or Sanders.

Despite my support of Cruz, I have said plainly that I can and will support any of the others remaining GOP against those tow.

What a relief to hear you say that, Vision Thing! That was my understanding, too.

Our Father in Heaven regarded his Archangel Lucifer as "the Prince of Light." But Lucifer -- henceforth known as Satan -- screwed up, BIG TIME....

Thank you ever so much for writing, Vision Thing!

Trump's detractors (here and elsewhere) seem to always leave out his chief qualifications when criticizing him. Yet another parallel to Reagan, who was called, "cowboy, warmonger, geriatric, B-actor, amiable dunce" - but rarely, "Governor, author, movement leader, well-loved, effective executive, courageous, etc."

Kinda familiar, ain't it?

Trump is smoking the field, not because he's boisterous, loud, and braggadocious - he's leading the race because a plurality of Americans have looked at the whole man, and have judged him to be exactly the kind of person we need at the helm in these dangerous times.
