†Al Kresta - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaAl Kresta (born 1951) is a Catholic broadcaster, journalist and author. A former Evangelical pastor, he is now the President and CEO of Ave Maria Radio, and host of Kresta in the Afternoon, produced by Ave Maria Radio and syndicated on EWTN Global Catholic Radio, heard on more than 160 stations around the United States, Sirius Satellite, and numerous webstreams.
Personal Background
A 1976 honors graduate of Michigan State University, Kresta has done graduate work in theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and Ashland Theological Seminary.
In 1986, Kresta began pastoring Shalom Ministry in Taylor, MI. He became well known in the Detroit area for his program, "Talk from the Heart," one of the top-rated Christian talk shows during the 1980s and 90s on WMUZ. When he began the program, Al was a Protestant pastor. The questions forced upon him as pastor, however, led him to return to the Catholic Church. His profound personal conversion to Christ and return to the Catholic Church is told in the best-selling anthology Surprised By Truth.
In 1997 Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan recruited him to launch the media apostolate, Ave Maria Communications. Over the years, Kresta has engaged in vigorous discussions and debates with many nationally known figures from politics, the arts, the Church, academia and business.
Kresta has been a guest on BBC Radio and major TV network news affiliates. His radio work has received mention by Associated Press, "The Washington Times," "National Catholic Reporter," "Our Sunday Visitor," "Envoy," "Christianity Today," and numerous metropolitan newspapers.
Kresta's life and spiritual journey took on a new dimension in February 2003, when he lost his left leg to necrotizing fasciitis, a virulent infection often referred to as the "flesh-eating bacteria." His extended recovery and eventual return to broadcasting have given him new insights into the realities of suffering and hope.
Kresta and his wife, Sally, were married in 1977 and currently have 5 children.

Kresta is the author of "Why Do Catholics Genuflect?â€â€And Answers to Other Puzzling Questions About the Catholic Faith" (Servant Books), "Why Are Catholics So Concerned About Sin?" (St. Anthony Messenger Press) and co-author with Nick Thomm of "Moments of Grace: Inspiring Stories From Well-Known Catholics" (St. Anthony Messenger Press). He is a contributor to "Shaken by Scandals: Catholics Speak Out About Priests’ Sexual Abuse" (Servant Books), and "Loving Your Neighbor," (Capital Research Foundation).

Why Do Catholic Genuflect? has made the top-10 list of Catholic books compiled by the Catholic Book Publisher’s Association. It answers more than 50 common questions about Catholic religious beliefs and spiritual practices. At its release, Kresta explained that the book isn’t intended to be "a definitive work of apologetics." Rather, it is written in question-and-answer style like "a conversation that would help interested Catholics and non-Catholics better understand why Catholics believe and behave as we do." |

Professor Torres joined the Ohio Northern faculty in August, 2006. Prior to coming to ONU, he taught at Ave Maria and Southern New England law schools, in the business programs at Dartmouth, Stanford, and the Institute for Media and Entertainment, and internationally at University of Navarra (Spain) and Bled School of Management (Slovenia). He spent a number of years working in the investment and securities fields with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith and Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc.
Professor Torres is director of the Three-Dimensional Leadership Institute, a center for training leaders to harness the intangibles that underlie measurable results. Located in Ann Arbor, MI--home to the University of Michigan, one of the world's great research universities--its activities with executives are carried on throughout the world.

The Big Short, the film adaptation of Michael Lewis' 2010 book of the same name about the causes of the financial crisis, opens in UK cinemas this weekend. Christian Bale stars as Michael Burry, the hedge fund manager who predicted the collapse of the subprime mortgage market, alongside Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell and Brad Pitt whose characters also bet on the impending financial crash. Michael Lewis is a story teller.
Ostensibly he writes non-fiction, but his stories are modified and dramatized to fictionalize them in to good stories for entertainment.
The US too much gets it’s info from entertainment and can’t tell entertainment from reality.

The movie was an incoherent piece of dung. Overacted, cliché ridden with unrealistic monologues, quirky characters and a confused scriptwriting.
At least Inside Job showed that the bad guys have been running the US Treasury for the better part of the last decade in the Obama Administration.
Read Peter Wallison’s book and he will teach you about the origins of the Financial Crisis.
Or better yet just read for free his 108 page dissent to the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, it is a killer:
