IRS Urges Public to Stay Alert for Scam Phone Calls

I got one of these the other day.

The fact that it came from a Fresno, California area code was my first tip-off.

The fact that Agent Brubaker could barely speak English was my second.

Just got one of these this morning from 202 area code. I never answer calls from unknown numbers so they just left a message. They’re filing a lawsuit against me. Oh my!

I used to say "can you hold on a minute?" then lay the phone down.

I also do that. One time I had sat the phone down and came back about 15 min. later and the guy was still there, so I just sat it down again.

Sometimes if I really feel cruel I’ll come back in a couple of minutes and say “sorry just hold on I’ll be right back” They just keep holding. LOL!

I’ve received two that sounded like an American black woman; she warned that I was being sued by the “Internal Revenue serviceS”...
