I think of all the candidates Trump would be the one who wouldn’t shed a tear if Israel took care of the “Palestinian Problem” once and for all.
My take on his comment was that he could get involved with peace negotiations if they want, but it would be pretty pointless.

Ted Cruz has proved to be Israel's best friend in the US Senate, his record on Israel is clear and precise...no nuances or abstractions like Trump's "position".
I'm sure in short order, Trump will change his position again when the political winds change again.
