Chelsea Clinton says her mother is a political realist, who knows when to stand and fight and when to compromise.
The younger Clinton also argued that her mother, Hillary Clinton, is the best candidate in the Democratic presidential field to "protect" the gains made in the White House under Democratic President Barack Obama.
"We have to have a president who knows when to stand their ground and when to find common ground," said Clinton, during a campaign stop Wednesday in Omaha on her mother's behalf.(snip)
Chelsea Clinton noted that her mother once tried to push for universal health care during her father's presidency, but that she failed to get it through Congress.
Now, her mother is committed to making sure that Obamacare is protected from Republican attempts to have it repealed.
"We can't let the perfect be the enemy of the good," said Chelsea Clinton.
Chelsea also fielded several questions from the audience. She said she has no plans "right now" to run for political office.
One woman asked Clinton how her mother maintained her dignity in the fact of political attacks.
Chelsea Clinton noted that there has never been a time in her life when her mother wasn't under attack in the political arena.
Her mother's axiom, she says, is to only take seriously "criticism from serious people."

Her unelected mother tried to rally her cronies to steal 1/3 of the American economy and was rightfully shut down. In another time and place she would have been run out of town on a rail. Or worse.

That is because private citizens are not allowed to get legislation passed. It’s a weird thing but only elected people can do that.
