I agree part of this is the bad economy in general, but they are definitely casualties of the transition to online shopping. How many times would fight for a parking spot in a crowded lot just to find the store wasn’t carrying something rather basic?

I know the answer: Once.

I tend to buy online now you find exactly what you want you don’t have to talk to some snot nose person that has not a clue what your asking for or takes you to the aisle you already have scoured top to bottom left to right

Crowded parking lots didn’t seem to be a problem the two times I went to Sports Authority. Some overflow from the adjacent pet store.

These guys were also advertising on ESPN and sporting events big time a year or two ago. I wondered where such a comparatively small company was getting all those advertising bucks.
