In the last Month middle class staples Dennys and Carrows restaurants have closed along with Cost Plus World Market in my neck of So Cal. Our Olive Garden had to move out of a dying shopping center to survive. Dennys and Carrows Both use to offer discount coupons that me and the wife would use for weekend breakfast. Both stopped with the coupons or made them more restrictive a couple years back.

I suspect IHOP will be next, ludicrous prices and discounts are no longer good for weekend breakfast. Two omelets and two drinks easy $33 out the door, forget about it. Add to that three major chain grocery stores shut down last year. Times are a booming.

We’ve got Academy in Florida now. Nice new stores. I think Academy is killing them on the low end and Dick’s on the high end. Really not much need for 3 big box sporting goods stores, IMO.

Their pricing doesnt reflect online pricing. Unfortunate.

Big box retailers are having a rough go of it ... stores that aren't performing will be closed. Sports Authority ten years ago was thriving, buying up competition like Gart Bros. (here in CO) acquiring the naming rights to Mile High Stadium ... previously Invesco Field at Mile High. Home of the Super Bowl 50 Denver Broncos for you non football types. ;)
Rumor has it that fast expanding Cabela's is looking for a buyer ... are they next?
