Cruz said he will, when elected, instruct the Department of Education that "Common Core ends today."

In a humorous sense, I guess that will be one of the DOE's last directives.

One of the patterns I notice is that Trump supporters have the impression that Trump has some kind of monopoly on certain positions.

As if...

Another pattern that bothers me is this: Trump supporters (others, too) view Cruz as a Washington INSIDER even though he is hated by the GOPe, the D.C. establishment, liberals, Hollywood and academic elitists. These facts don't fit but somehow Trump supporters (and others) keep making the claim.

I guess they're trying to convince themselves that Trump ("I give to everybody. When they call, I give. And you know what, when I need something from them two years later, three years later, I call them. They are there for me. That's a broken system." that HE USES extensively) is not a political insider.

The Dept of Education exists to employ federal workers. If it was closed down, no one outside of the DoE would notice.

My daughter would. She's a teacher. She'd be elated by the sudden disappearance of dozens of stupid mandates.

Cruz was the solicitor General for the State of Texas and argued many cases before the Supreme Court. That is rare air territory. He appears to be a strong advocate for all the Constitution. It would be a huge shot in the arm for this country if a real president worked to enforce the 10th amendment. There are a whole lot of federal agencies that should not exist in the first place. The states can take care of their issues and it will eliminate the legal money laundering that goes on in DC.

Yes! Surrender to Planned Parenthood with Trump!

Sorry, this rotten Congress isn’t defunding PP. I stopped believing in the tooth fairy when I was 5. I suggest you do the same, FRiend.

Let's see who owns a piece of Ted, shall we?

Cruz's secret fundraising strength: A network of wealthy donors

Ted's wealthy donors benefit from the Cheap Labor Express. Ted's faux advocacy for American workers with his toothless plan to "suspend H-1B visas for 6 months" is (unfortunately for him) utterly transparent. Sorry Ted, but STEM workers are not that easily fooled.

I agree with you 100%.
It is why I voted for Cruz in the senate primary, and in the senate general election.
It is why I will vote for Cruz in the upcoming presidential primary.

If you cannot kill these Black Hole agencies with a GOP congress and President Ted Cruz then what hope is there?

TC says what he is going to do then does it. Cowering behind the curtains in fear of what liberals will say when their sacred cow gets skewered is hardly a sign of bravery.

Hillary will be either indicted or under a dark cloud of investigation. Bernie is not going to sway the public to voting for communism. This is not going to be a close election.

If not now, when?

With his support for TPA and H-1B visas, Ted has outed himself as a globalist — a bought and paid for, Canadian-born version of Jeb!. No amount of pedantic lecturing by Ted can erase his demonstrable lack of loyalty toward American workers.

Block granting that money to the states is good.

Better still would be not to block grant it to the states but give that money as vouchers to the parents of children of school age. The vouchers can then be spent in any school that meets state approval,

private, public, or church school.

Bad schools would close. Good schools would prosper. The teachers unions would take it in the butt. School scores would soar.
