Russia's Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau (member of United Shipbuilding Corporation OCK) unveiled the new Project 23420 small anti submarine warfare (ASW) ship. The vessel features a futuristic design with very sleek lines.

According to Almaz, the small ASW ship is designed for conducting combat operations against underwater, surface and air adversaries, for guarding naval bases, for engaging enemy shore installations with artillery fire, for patrolling the state sea border and EEZ.
The Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau, founded in 1949, is a leading design and engineering organization in the Russian shipbuilding industry, unique by its range of designs and their complexity. The Almaz CMDB today is the leading Russian designer of high-speed craft, small and medium size surface combatants, landing air cushion vessels, mine countermeasures vessels, special purpose vessels and floating docks.

The Project 23420 ship displaces about 1300 tons for a length of 75 meters. Its endurance is 15 days at sea with a range of 2500 nautical miles and a crew of about 60 sailors.
There are two types of propulsion systems available: diesel or diesel-electric propulsion with fixed pitch propellers or diesel-gas turbine propulsion with variable pitch propellers.

A contingent of these could raise some hell for sure.
THAT would be a great zombie apocalypse fall back position. Would have to rendezvous with Travis McGee for some additional skillsets ;)
Doesn’t seem to be very heavily armed:
ARTILLERY
1 x 76-mm AK-176MA gun (152 rounds) or
1 x 30-mm AK-306 gun (500 rounds)
AIR DEFENCE SYSTEM
1 x 3M-47 Ghibka gun ring
20 x Igla(S) MANPADS
FIREARM
2 x 12.7-mm machine-guns (2000 rounds)
ASW
1 x Paket-E/NK system (2 x launchers, 8 x torpedoes) or
1 x RPK-8E system (1 x RBU-6000, 48 x 90R ASW missiles and RGB-60 depth bombs)
ANTI DIVER WEAPONS
2 x DP-64 grenade-launchers (240 rounds)
The ASW weaponry is rather short ranged, I think and its air-defenses nearly non-existent.
Would make a neat personal yacht, with teeth.
Notional coastal corvette for the foreign market? That is about all I’m seeing here.
1300 tons, 2500 mile range, and 15-day endurance, is ok for the Black Sea, but the open ocean is going to be a killer.
Any hull mounted sonar is going to be too small and that helo pad is going to be far too game at sea states of 3 and above, on a 1300 ton hull. Our FFGs were really tricky at 3 times the tonnage.
That’s what I’m thinking...throw some outriggers off the tuna tower...good to go.
Naah, nothing to be concerned about. The Russians are now our "friends", at least according to the Trump-supporting Putinistas.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Russia's push into Ukraine has put many on edge. But less known is that Russia is also strengthening its military links south of the Rio Grande and re-establishing itself as a power in the region.
Vladimir Putin has been strengthening military links here, and Russia is now the largest arms dealer to governments in Latin America, surpassing the United States.
Russia has even floated the possibility of building new military bases in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, and putting its warships permanently in the Caribbean.
In the midst of the Ukraine crisis, Russia's top diplomat Sergei Lavrov recently visited Cuba, Peru, Chile, and Nicaragua, where he announced that Russia would also pour money into the new Central American canal project. ..."

Russia agreed to provide military training for three leftist regimes in Latin America and increase military visits and exercises following a visit last week to the region by Moscow's Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, Pentagon officials said.
Shoygu met with defense and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua and signed several agreements on warship visits and military training during the visit, which ran from Feb. 11 to 14. It is not clear whether any new arms deals were completed during the visit.
Defense officials said the Russian leader is seeking bases in the region for strategic bomber flights that Shoygu recently promised would include flights over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

"50 years is enough," Trump said in an interview with the Daily Caller published Tuesday, referring to Obama's decision to re-establish U.S. ties with Cuba.
"I think it's fine. I think it's fine, but we should have made a better deal," Trump added. " The concept of opening with Cuba is fine."

Joe Scarborough: Again, he [Putin] kills journalists that don't agree with him
Trump: Well, I think our country does plenty of killing also, Joe, so, you know. There's a lot of stupidity going on in the world right now, Joe. Lot of killing going on, a lot of stupidity, and that's the way it is.

Russia has stepped up its military maneuvers to a level unseen since the height of the Cold War, according to a new report released by NATO Thursday.
Jens Stoltenberg, the alliance's secretary general and author of the report, noted that Moscow has conducted at least 18 large-scale exercises over the past three years, "some of which have involved more than 100,000 troops."
Those exercises included several simulated nuclear attacks against NATO allies and partner nations ..."
I can see a couple of those protecting the superyacht of the next James Bond villain.
Which could be double-agent Donald Trumpski.
