Unfortunately, we'll never know that particular reason, because the post you responded to (#16) got deleted. At any rate, there are many good reasons why folks choose not to carry.
My advice to those folks: Think about carrying high-quality pepper spray. Fox Labs makes a very good product in that regard (Fox 5.3). It's available online at Amazon. Also check out the Fox videos on Youtube. Avoid the junk pepper spray sold in supermarket check-out lines.

I went the route of wasp spray, to throwing knives, to a CHEETAH stun gun for late night dog walks.
When talking to my friend the County Sheriff and his “demand” that I have home protection, I agreed, and went to the Concealed Carry class. He thought I needed a shotgun but I did not want it standing in the corner! The JUDGE is a good combination weapon for indoor protection. When he heard I had finally purchased it he wanted to know what I got for the other end of the house??? So then the Sig and Finally a nice little ankle derringer for car use on long drives.
I have taken them all to NRA ranges and am comfortable, if not a great shot, with them. Always low left of center, new glasses coming up, but stronger grip or fingers is not possible.
Purchased a gun safe and bedside small one so I am covered here. Amount of ammunition to stock is still open to debate.
It is not that I am afraid, it is just the Normalcy Factor and my resistance to thinking anything bad will happen...

Sadly I have few doubts Christopher Marquez, is an INDIRECT victim of America’s expanding and shameful *National Epidemic of Child Abuse and Neglect,* aka *Poverty*, that for decades has OPPRESSED and deprived untold numbers of emotionally abused and neglected young developing children from experiencing a safe, fairly happy “Average Joe and Josie” American kid childhood that Childhood Trauma Victim Kendrick Lamar laments he, his three siblings, numerous cousins, classmates and many neighborhood friends NEVER got to enjoy due to being raised and nurtured in a Violent Felon embracing family and community environment.
How much longer will America ignore OUR expanding and shameful sub-culture of immature American teen girls and young women of African descent selfishly OPPRESSING American society’s children by subjecting children to *Child Abuse and Neglect,* aka *Poverty,* by building families with too many mouths to feed, clothe and supervise?

There is a reason American recording artists Kendrick Lamar and the late Tupac Shakur rap or speak about depression and suicidal thoughts. That reason has everything to do with both of them being emotionally abused and maltreated by their CRIMINALLY NEGLIGENT PRIMARY maternal caretaker during a critical period of their human development.
There is a reason that for more than thirty years a substantial number of locally, nationally and internationally popular American music performers and recording artists of African descent have been demeaning and hating-on females in their music art performances by characterizing the *MATERNAL HALF* of our population as less than human ^itches and ^hores unworthy of respect.
How much longer will supposedly caring, concerned Americans TOLERATE/IGNORE the significant population of immature, irresponsible teen and adult moms SCOFFING AT their parental duty and obligation to their children, as well as IGNORING their societal responsibility to their neighbors and community to place the well being of their child(ren) *ABOVE ALL ELSE!!!*

Decorated Marine vet attacked, robbed at Washington DC McDonald’s, police say
A decorated former Marine was attacked and robbed by at least four people at a Washington D.C. McDonald’s last week, according to local police.
Christopher Marquez, 30, an Iraq War vet, told the Washington Post he was eating in a back corner of the restaurant when a group of teens and young men approached his table.
“They saw me and crowded around and they started asking me if I believed black lives matter,” Marquez told the paper. “I was ignoring them, then they started calling me racist.”
At that point, Marquez said he left the McDonald’s, but was knocked unconscious by a blow to his head. When he came to, his pants were ripped and his wallet, which contained $400 in cash, three credit cards and VA medical card among other items, was missing.
According to the Daily Caller, transactions made on Marquez’s stolen credit cards reveal that his attackers charged more than $115 at a liquor store, Five Guys and Walmart. Mason told Marquez that police had already been looking for the group of teens for a prior incident. On Saturday, Mason helped Marquez piece together the events leading up to the head blow.
“I believe this was a hate crime, and I was targeted because of my skin color,” Marquez told the Daily Caller. “Too many of these types of attacks have been happening against white people by members of the black community and the majority of the mainstream media refuses to report on it.”
Not that it matters what I think. I don’t harbor the slightest delusion that what I think about this matters at all but since we’re talking about it...
Right now, that link / story / embedded news video doesn’t actually show anything but what he says. The same way the initial news stories of Tawana Brawley or the Duke Lacrosse rape victim showed their sides of the story. The narrative of this attack (Black Lives Matters goons attack decorated military veteran over race) fits neatly into what we think will likely / would / will eventually happen with regularity in the same way the Duke rape victim narrative or the various other Left-leaning false flag operations on college campuses neatly fit their beliefs. All of those, Brawley, the Duke Lacross rape accuser, the noose hanging from a black kids dorm room door were ultimately shown to be fakes. False flag operations, all.
You want to believe his word? More power to you. I don’t take anyone I don’t take the word of anyone I don’t know and trust anymore. I’m jaded that way. Show me the audio/video of the incident and I’ll happily lead the charge against the animals (for what that’s worth).
Until then, color me skeptical.
Fox & Friends” had a segment on this story this morning and showed Marquez (who appears to be a “white Hispanic”). Somehow nothing was said about the race of the attackers, as if it was irrelevant to the story. But they did mention the “Black Live Matter” connection.
