Justice Scalia's children and grandchildren have paid tribute to him while his doctor has raised questions about the veteran jurist's health.

The 79-year-old, who sat on the Supreme Court bench for 20 years, is believed to have had a history of heart problems, high blood pressure and was too weak to have a shoulder operation.

He was found dead at a ranch in Texas during a retreat with friends and admirers, prompting a flood of tributes from his loved ones.

Many uploaded pictures of him holding his grandchildren in more relaxed settings, away from the courtroom.

His grand-son Antonin 'Nino' Scalia led the heartfelt messages from his family, referring to him as 'Pop-Pop'.

Strange. Too weak for surgery, but not too weak for trip by himself. To hunt or?

I hope this quiets the conspiracies.

At his his age, with those risk factors, we’re lucky we had him as long as we did.

He was with friends not by himself. He went to be on a hunt not necessarily to hunt himself. I have known folks who have gone duck hunting or fishing one last time. Some passed on the trip some shortly after coming back

People need to chill. This is getting ridiculous

79 years is a good number of years.

My impression is that that Antonin Scalia decided he would prefer to eat, drink and be merry, in the conviviality and comradery of human companionship, than worry about dying at 89 as opposed to 79.

God bless him, and God bless Trump’s replacement of him.

I have some of the problems he had, many people I know do too. I hope if I was found with a pillow over my head, at the least a medical professional would look at my body, let alone give me an autopsy, before sending it to be embalmed in the middle of the night.

It is not about conspiracies. It is about a democrat making the irresponsible decision to have order an autopsy and toxicology report. She did not care. Even at the link it quotes her as saying he probably died of a heart attack. Probably? hello? The ramifications of his death are so significant that an autopsy should have been required.

As for the family, they are grieving. You cannot hang this decision on them. To them he is their beloved Father/Grandfather/husband... To the rest of us he was a vital line of defense against a power usurping left. We deserve the peace of mind knowing that our government CARES to confirm his cause of death, even as it was probably natural causes.

Good man. Heart condition, high blood pressure, and went from his sea level home, to 4600 feet. Felt bad after the first day there. The last thing his system needed thinner air with less oxygen.
But glad his last day was a west Texas ranch, a ride around in a pickup, a Texas sunset and a steak. Then to die in his sleep.

Glad he was away from that DC cesspool. Sounds like he was at peace with his family too.

I meant the democrat decided to NOT order an autopsy and toxicology report. That was irresponsible and a conflict of interest on her part. Liberals are in party mode over his death.

The 79-year-old, who sat on the Supreme Court bench for 20 years,

30 years. He was appointed by Reagan in 1986.

Do you know why my picture was removed? I posted a picture from the link and it was removed. I am unclear as to why.

It seems odd that when someone dies alone in an unanticipated circumstance with no obvious cause that an autopsy wasn't standard procedure. In those circumstances, autopsies are standard practice before a coroner gives a cause of death. It also seems odd that someone as important as a Supreme Court judge travels without some kind of security.

There's probably nothing to it. But because of the omissions, there will be conspiracy theories. With the description of his medical problems, going hunting in TX one last time might has just been a "bucket list" decision.

Sad that in this age of no privacy we'll never know.

Exactly. “Probably” just isn’t good enough.
