Bump!
Except it did pass the Senate.
To toake that one step further, there were MILLIONS of phone calls made to Congressional offices to try to stop that garbage (not that anyone in DC cared, but even so)...is Rubio saying that he and is buddies got us all worked up over this for his ‘entertainment’ or something?
Indeed, video footage of Sen. Rubio confirms Cruz’s assertion. In an April Spanish-language interview, Rubio told Univision’s Jorge Ramos: “I wouldn’t undo it [DACA] immediately.” Rubio elaborated in English, telling Ramos: “I don’t think we can immediately revoke that [DACA]... I’m not calling for it to be revoked tomorrow, or this week, or right away.”
Dondi, you’re killin’ me!!!
Then Rubio committed political suicide for no reason?
Not meant to pass? Suuuuuurrrrrrre. Liar, liar, tongue on fire.
If they never meant it to pass, which is a lie, then it was nothing but a political tool to hurt conservatives. Does Rubio think this helps him? lol
— This is proof we need Term Limits;
— One term in office,
— Two terms in JAIL!!!
Now THAT is Change I can Believe in!!!
Right on!
Rubio came out and WARNED about the failings in the proposed bill. He also warned about not trusting Obama to admin any bill/law.
Exactly. That's pathetic. I want to like Marco, but Marco seems intent on making that a difficult task. He not only signed off an tried to sell us a crap sandwich, but voted against every attempt to improve on it to make even remotely beneficial to the right. Now this.
I know quite a few. He’s, on paper, a great candidate so those looking purely at optics buy into Rubio. I would have supported him if not for Gang of Eight, but he showed poor political acumen and poor character selling it to the conservatives in a breathless and BS filled sales pitch. Signing on to anything with THAT group of Democrats and McCain/Flake/Graham is just politically dumb. In 2010 he showed incredibly good political instincts and guts, but since 2013, it’s the opposite.
Rubio & Jeff Flake boasted they would get amnesty rammed through in 2013 outside of an election year.
The way I see it, he is saying that he wanted some kind of bill to pass no matter what so he helped pass that piece of crap out of the Senate so the house could take it up, make it right, and then send it back to the Senate. Yikes
:-)
It's crushing, if unintended.
Obamacare was supposed to be a slam-dunk rejection by the Supremes.
And there was another controversial bill before that, which passed because Bush was supposed to veto it; and he dropped the ball; and the Supremes let it go, to. What was that again, anyone remember?
Marco Rubio is a liar.
"The Senate immigration law was not headed towards becoming law," Rubio said Monday at a campaign appearance in South Carolina, according to NBC News . "Ideally, it was headed towards the House, where conservative members of the House were going to make it even better."
Make it better? Then why did not even one of you gang of 8 decide to vote for any of the amendments conservatives in the SENATE tried to attach to the bill. Oh, I forgot. The democrats would never go for it. There are democrats in the House too, Marco. Any changes still would have to be passed by both bodies Senate and House. Marco, your reasoning here seems fractured.
This represents a sharp departure for Rubio, who previously called it a "good piece of legislation" that House Republicans should "take a look at."
They didn't need to look, Marco. They could smell it coming and there was nothing good about it.
Changing your stated opinion because you are getting shellacked is exactly what you did to win in Florida. As you did then, doing a 180, about face once you won the election is also exactly what you'll do if you get the nomination. But fool us once, Marco. You won't even try to run for the Senate in Florida now because we know what a liar you are. You should be ashamed.
Just say no. Don't let Marco Rubio fool you.
Rubio should be the one Trump is calling the biggest liar of all time!
