In the past month, criminals have murdered six police officers in the line of duty. The number might have been eight if not for the actions of two concealed handgun permit holders.
At this rate, police deaths could be way up this year compared to previous years. By this time last year, only one officer had been murdered. While Republican presidential candidates such as Cruz, Rubio and Trump have spoken out forcefully about police shootings, Democrats have been silent.
Youâve probably heard on the news when at least one of these officers has been killed. But you almost certainly havenât heard about concealed handgun permit holders stepping forward to protect officers.
-- Last month, a drunken man attacked a deputy sheriff near Austin, Texas. As the deputy relates what happened, âI remember thinking âstay in the fight. Just keep fighting, keep fighting. Do whatever you can do, just stay alive you need to go home.ââ The deputy ended up having his gun taken away from him. Fortunately, a concealed handgun permit holder pointed his gun at the attacker and ordered him to âfreeze!â âIâm alive today because of [the permit holder],â said the deputy. âThere are no words to explain it. Heâs such an outstanding citizen.â

Our community is burying two deputy’s this week. I’m convinced one would still be alive had the state of Maryland allowed concealed carry and had there been a CCW holder nearby.
We are burying a deputy sheriff today. He lost his life because he was trying to tase the filthy criminal.
If he had just drawn and fired, he’d be alive.
I don’t know if he was trying to be non-lethal because he thought it was safe, or if he was killed by mandatory PC.
I live in rural Texas, I know I have no need to carry a weapon. But I do like the fact that out here the good guys carry guns too.
