The rules for marking are well known. They get marked when a special reviewer (classifier) says mark them. This is part of the first page and must be done before the material is released by the author. Also required are markings on figures, tables, graphs, and paragraphs. Hillary cannot get around this, because if she received material she knows should be marked, she has to call this out at once. (And so the question is, does she know what is classified in her business or not?) She has maintained that she does, which takes away the “I am stupid” defense.

Since some of the material must have come from someone who followed the rules, then someone else has to be involved in the digital alteration that results in all these indications being removed. (So her aides are not implicated as well as their boss.) In any reasonable scenario there would be a loss of security credentials and that alone is enough to warrant dropping out of the race.

The only thing that this is showing is that if enough people want a crook for president, they can succeed. The question is where are the honest people? Are there any left?

Full disclosure, I have held security clearances for a full career for a defense contractor (TS, SAP). I have seen people walked out the door and security clearances dropped for much less than this.

Then, sir you are well aware that communications are never marked with the actual word "CLASSIFIED". They are tagged with the actual LEVEL OF CLASSIFICATION. This is FOUO, confidential, secret, top secret and above. Those are the actual, specific markings on those communications. NEVER will you find the word CLASSIFIED on communications. On signage to spaces, storage cabinets, yes.

The ONLY, ONLY, ONLY way to get top secret and above out of a JWICS very, very closed system (air gapped and never any connection of any type to any outside world like DCIS unclas systems) is human, willful, difficult to perform and not get caught espionage.

The term “classified” is not a correct marking, it is a summary term for anything that is marked, but not a classification in itself.
