Pakistan's president has denounced St Valentine's Day, saying the festival has no connection with Pakistani culture and should be avoided.
President Mamnoon Hussain told students that it was a Western tradition and conflicted with Muslim culture.
His remarks came after a district in north-western Pakistan banned Valentine's Day celebrations.

Even the JAPANESE celebrate Christmas. Many don't have a clue as to why but it's what we Westerners do, so they do it.
Besides, anyone with a brain knows that the American CANDY industry invented the Valentine holiday, CERTAINLY no Christian entity.

We were driving to lunch when we saw Obumbler’s plane coming in for a landing in Palm Springs late Friday morning. What a treat - not.
For 5 days, the primary road into the airport from all of the cities east of Palm Springs (read that to mean the vast majority of the population) will be closed to all traffic, presumably because Air Force 1 will be parked on the tarmac nearby.
Then from Sunday to Tuesday afternoon, two major roads adjacent to Sunnylands where the conference will be held will be closed to all traffic. Both are 4 lane roads heavily used by commuters and shoppers. The main hospital here in this valley, Eisenhower Medical Center, is a mile down the road and will be unreachable from any place in the northern end of Rancho Mirage without a several mile detour.
Plus, it looks like half of the local police and sheriff forces are assigned to a security detail. The only good news out of that is that the Riverside County deputy sheriffs will not be out on their motor cycles operating their radar speed traps.
